[ARCHIVED] Burn Ban in April

The ban will include all open burning of any waste, including vegetation and wood waste, structures, or any materials on any premises during the month of April. The Kansas Department of Health & Environment Open Burning Regulations (K.A.R. 28-19-648). 

No open burn permits will be issued during the month of April and you will not be able to burn again until May 1st, no current permit holders will be allowed to conduct open burns during this time period. 

Exceptions to the open burn ban include pasture, crop, range, and wildlife or watershed management. The allowed burning operations will still require a valid permit from Valley Center Fire Department and to dial 911 before you burn (contact us at 755-7303 or request a burn permit on our Fire Department homepage if you qualify under this exception).

This will not effect cooking devices (such as grills and smokers) or ceremonial fires.
