SAFETY TIPS 

Practice and know where to go incase of severe weather. Have the items you need in place when you arrive to your shelter. Keep items up to date by checking them annually for your families needs during an emergency. 

ITEMS 

--3 day supply of water 

--3 day supply of non perishable, ready to eat food with a manual can opener 

--Flashlight and extra batteries or shakable flashlight that generates its own energy 

--Battery operated radio or hand crank 

--Clothing for the appropriate season or climate

--Shoes 

--Matches in a waterproof container 

--Whistle 

--Blankets 

--Useful tools (hammer or pliers) 

--Cash including coins 

--Photocopies of important documents, I.D. or Credit Cards 

--Babies necessities 

--Prescription medication, extra pair of glasses, and contact solution 

--Games to pass the time 

--Pet needs such as food or water 

--First Aid Kit FIRST AID KIT ITEMS 

--Sterile adhesive bandages in assorted sizes 

--2 and 4 inch sterile gauze pads 

--Hypoallergenic adhesive tape 

--Triangular bandages 

--Scissors and tweezers 

--2 and 3 inch sterile roll bandage 

--Waterless alcohol-based hand sanitizer 

--Antiseptic wipes 

--Petroleum jelly or other lubricant 

--Non-latex gloves 

--Anti-bacterial ointment 

--Aspirin or non-aspirin pain reliever 

--Antacid 

--Cold pack 

--CPR breathing barrier, such as a face shield 

--Assorted sizes of safety pins
