- Read the instructions and description. You wont' be surprised how high or far the firework goes.

- Stray fireworks cause 23% of the injuries to bystanders. Use a flat, solid place to avoid tipping fireworks.

- Don't stand in the smoke from smoke bombs and other emitting fireworks. Standing in the smoke caused over 15% of the injuries to children in 2017.

- Over 60% of operator injuries are to hands. Use a long-handed lighter to easily light fireworks form the ground.

- Leave the casings in a non-combustible place. Put them in the trash only after they have cooled and/or been soaked with water.

- Don't throw fireworks. Each year, a few Kansas residents suffer traumatic amputations from fireworks going off in their hand. Light from the ground only.

- Have an adult supervise all fireworks activities

- Always ignite outdoors.

- Light only one firework at a time.

- Never re-ignite malfunctioning fireworks.

- Have a water supply nearby.
