It is my pleasure to announce Mr. James E. Gilson, Jr. as the person selected to complete the unexpired term vacated as a result of the resignation of Mayor Robinson. Mr. Gilson is an 18 year resident of Valley Center. He has lived in Ward 2 since moving to Valley Center.
Mr. Gilson has previous Council experience from when he was elected to the City Council in Blissfield, Michigan in 1986. Mr. Gilson and his wife of 35 years reside at 105 Goff Rd.
While serving on the Blissfield Council, Mr. Gilson oversaw the building of a state of the art sewer treatment facility. This was the first waste water treatment facility in the state of Michigan to use ultraviolet technology for waste water treatment.
Mr. Gilson is a welcome addition to the Council, as we enter into the process of working with staff to set the budget for 2007.
Mr. Gilson will work with Mike Houston as together they represent the citizens in Ward 2.
Mike McNown, Mayor
