[ARCHIVED] Tell Legislators What you Want

The public is invited to address members of the Sedgwick County Legislative Delegation on January 3, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. in the Jury Room of the Sedgwick County Court House (525 North Main, north entrance directly south of the parking garage). Those wishing to address area Legislators should limit their testimony to 2-3 minutes depending on the number of people wishing to speak. This is a wonderful opportunity for citizens to let their local legislators know how they feel about issues the legislature will or should be dealing with during the 2008 legislative session.
Also, on January 10, 2008, the Sedgwick County Legislative Delegation will be hearing input from local governmental units like the City of Wichita, Sedgwick County, and the Wichita Public Schools concerning their respective legislative agendas (wish lists) at the Marcus Center located at 4201 E. 21st. on the Wichita State University Campus from 1:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The public will not be allowed to address the legislators; however, this is an excellent opportunity for citizens to find out what local governmental officials are asking from the state legislature in 2008. These annual meeting are humorously referred to as "The Beggars Ball". This meeting was originally scheduled for January 4th but was moved to January 10th.
