Council member Chris Evans was elected to office in 2019. He moved to Valley Center, Kansas in 2016 from Terceira island, Azores, Portugal. He is married to Kathy Evans and have two children, Sammantha, 22 years old, and Logan, 11 years old.

Council member Evans currently serves in the United States Air Force as the Career Assistance Advisor for McConnell Air Force Base where he manages the 22nd Air Refueling Wing Professional Development Center and oversees the First Term Airman Course Noncommissioned Officer in Charge. Together, the Professional Development Center mentors 1,375 Air Force enlisted, officers, and civilians annually, serving the 931st Air Refueling Wing, 184th Intelligence Wing, and U.S. Army Fort Riley. Council member Evans not only provides educational and professional development opportunities, but also provides one-on-one career counseling and career options for Air Force members. Council member Evans entered the Air Force in February 1998 assigned as a Fuels Specialist. He has served in a variety of Fuels positions to include Fuels Superintendent and other leadership capacities. He has served in three contingency deployments to include Iraq, lived in six different countries, eight different duty locations, and been awarded numerously for outstanding service. 

Council member Evans’ formal education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Southwestern College and he is currently pursuing his Master Degree in Human Services Counseling through Liberty University. He has also been awarded his Substitute Teaching Certification for Kansas. In his free time, he enjoys working in his yard, camping, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with family and friends.
